A Fruity Kind of Problem (Posted on 2005-08-10) Difficulty: 1 of 5
When Levik was a young man he spent a summer working as a stockboy for a large grocery store. It was a rather strange grocery store, however, and they had a very peculiar way of arranging the fruit.

In one group you would find any of the following fruits:
apple, banana, grape, and orange.

In a different area you would find fruits like:
mango, nectarine, peach, and pear.

One day a new crate of fruit arrived and Levik wasn't sure where to put it. Where would you put a crate labeled strawberry?

1. When I first submitted this I considered putting it in "Word Problems", but didn't think it would quite fit with the other word problems.

2. At one time, HWMNBN made reference to this exact type of puzzle in the chatterbox.  Of course as fast as the chatterbox was moving in those days I doubt anyone would remember the details.  Incidentally, I had submitted this prior to him suggesting that type of puzzle.
