A Perplexing Expression (Posted on 2005-10-14) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Using only math symbols (no functions like sin, cos, log, etc.) create an expression with only two 2s equal to 5 (no other digits or constants).

It says no functions like sin, cos, log, etc.  I take that to mean functions that use letters to represent them.  Math symbols, even those representing functions, are presumably allowed.  In fact even + is a function, of two arguments.  Thus my notation that sqrt would have to be written as a surd (radical) to qualify, rather than written as letters (as it was posted here because of the limitations of adding math symbols in a comment)

I'll try, however, with "view source"
