Two men meet each other and one says to the other "I bet you I can walk around you three times, and before I walk around you the third time you will move your feet off of that spot you're standing on. On top of that i will do it without hitting or touching you in any physical way."
The other man says "I bet you 20 bucks you can't." After saying this he stood still and was preparing for the man to circle around him.
He circled him once.
He circled him twice. At this point the man trying to stand still threw his arms up in disgust realizing that he lost.
What happened?
His walk around the man was an extremely large circle, thus taking him a looooong time for each circle--maybe hours and hours for each circle. The man walking began his third circle, so he was fulfilling his end of the bet, but the second man knew that he could not stand in one place for that amount of time. Like Mack said, it would be ridiculous to take such a bet without accounting for time.
