All of the following words are united by a common link, can you deduce what that link is?

Sesquipedalian, Esoteric, Noun, Exists, Visible, Word, Finite.

Good find!  I had an idea along the same lines but quickly abandoned it when I figured that "exists", "visible", "word", and "finite" could all be used to describe any word, and I'm sure there are plenty of sesquipedalian esoteric nouns. :)

OH WAIT! - as I was typing this, I just thought of another possible solution.  Each of the words desribes itself:

"Sesquipedalian" is sesquipedalian;
"Esoteric" is esoteric (making the rather rude assumption that most people don't know what "esoteric" means);
"Noun" is a noun;
"Exists" exists;
"Visible" is visible;
"Word" is a word;
"Finite" is finite (or, more specifically, it is a word of finite length)
