When my uncle died his integral age was one twenty-ninth the year he died. How old was he when he first saw me, in 1976?

Is it just me, or doesn't this problem seem a little too simple?  Assuming that this statement is not taking place in the future, there is only one year since 1976 that is a multiple of 29, that being 2001.  2001/29 = 69, which means in 1976 the uncle was 44 years old.
