Which Biblical figure? (Posted on 2006-04-12) Difficulty: 3 of 5
To which Biblical figure does this encoded passage refer, and how does the code itself illustrate the sentence?

Ugd uc00 s000uwba 000absva cdi.

Hint #1: The zeros are zeros, not capital o’s.
Hint #2: In the first word only, “u” denotes “t”

Correct. An offset of 5 from "i" takes you to "m" plus 1.  But since there are no letters following "m" in the first half of the alphabet, you may interpret the result as "m".  Any of the five letters beyond "i", at this point, would result in an "m".

To get an "n", on the other hand, you would have had to start within the second half of the alphabet from "s"  or one of the the five letters preceding "s".
