The famous saying, 'expect the unexpected' is well known. However, can it be true?

To me the answer is obviously yes, you can expect the unexpected. although some may say that if you are expecting it then it is not expected, but i reason that all your expecting is that what happens is going to be unexpected. so you still dont expect the actual event therefore the saying does not contradict itself!! i hope you were able to follow that...let me give an example: lets say for instance that your a firefighter going in a burning house to put out a fire. when putting out a fire you know that something unexpected is probably going to happen...therefore you expect it to happen. but what the unexpecting thing is going to be you still doont know...therefore it is still unexpected but you are expecting it. i hope ive made my point clearly enough and that some people agree with me...thx
