Determine the positive integer values of x less than 100 such that the last two digits of 2x equal x.

What positive integer values of y less than 100 are there such that the last two digits of 3y equal y?

A different (wrong) read on the problem, but interesting Comment 5 of 5 |
I read te problem incorrectly as 100 less x and 100 less y which yields x = 84 and y = 37.  I couldn't figure out where the other solutions were coming from until I reread the problem (correctly this time)
