Sesquipedalian & Three-Quarter Ranch (Posted on 2006-10-15) Difficulty: 3 of 5
In a sesquipedalian farm, a hen and a half lay an egg and a half in a day and a half. How many eggs would seven hens lay in a week and half?

In a Three-Quarter Ranch, a hen & three quarters lay an egg and three quarters in a day and three quarters. How many eggs do seven ducks lay in week?

FIRST: A hen lays an egg in a day and a half, so seven hens lay seven eggs in a day and a half, so seven hens lay 49 eggs in a week and a half.

SECOND: A hen (duck?) lays an egg in a day and three quarters, so seven hens/ducks lay seven eggs in a day and three quarters, so seven hens/ducks lay 28 eggs in a week.
