You have broken into Contraplexus headquarters, a secret organization bent on destroying all puzzles in the world, with the task of procuring the latest research they have developed in another room.
Most of the building is one large room with several desks, and to the north is the door leading into the next room.

The difficulty is your spy boots have tracked in mud, so you can't walk across the floor; instead you enter from the south doorway and steal the only office chair from a nearby desk.
My method for solving this problem involved working backwards.
Pretend you start at the end of the problem and that the desks and
walls are "bumpers" that you can chose to hit you from the side to
change your direction. Also realize that you HAVE to choose to
get "bumped" into a new direction eventually, and are not allowed to
instead just run into a wall, because when working backwards you can't
push yourself; if you run into a wall you're stuck.
There are a lot fewer options this way; you HAVE to get pushed east to
begin with and then south and then west because those are the only
"bumpers" available, and usually when there are two or more options one
of them is immediately obvious as a dud (in the next length following
the ones mentioned, for instance, you have to choose the first bumper
to bump you south because the second one bumps you south then west then
north with no other options and you're stuck.)
