Sesquipedalian & Three-Quarter Ranch (Posted on 2006-10-15) Difficulty: 3 of 5
In a sesquipedalian farm, a hen and a half lay an egg and a half in a day and a half. How many eggs would seven hens lay in a week and half?

In a Three-Quarter Ranch, a hen & three quarters lay an egg and three quarters in a day and three quarters. How many eggs do seven ducks lay in week?

In both parts, one egg is laid per hen in the respective time listed. Since "a week and a half" is 7 times "a day and a half" and "a week" is 4 times "a day and three quarters", the answer to the first part is 7*7=49. and the answer to the second part is 7*4=28. (assuming we are concerned with seven hens in the second part)
