Bugs and Cubs (Posted on 2007-05-29) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Twenty creatures have been encoded according to the following rules.

u = a e i o u
b = b d f h k l t
c = c m n r s v w x z
g = g j p q y,

So, for example cucub would represent camel and buuc would represent lion.

Can you solve these? (If you find more than one answer, please let me know!)

One moment there were 35 puzzles awaiting approval and suddenly the number was 34!

Charlie waved the 'magic wand' to promote this to here.

In my opinion this is easiest considered by ignoring the code as presented and realising how the code is built.

Considering the image of the word against that criteria I can determine the the giraffe and gorilla as representing on entry.  The hippo and rhino are also there.  Eek!  Did I also discover a mouse?

I'll let someone else have the pleasure of exhausting the list.

For something rather similar see Josie's inspiration.
