The equation that Daniel opens with is in more conventional notation (possibly not available to him, or he was not aware):
(p²-q²)²= (p-q)² *(p+q)²
I was seeing this as:
(p²-q²)²= [(p-q)(p+q)]²
Daniel has given me a better understanding of how the value of 'p' functions, or at an alternative outlook on it.
