Determine all possible positive real p satisfying 18[p] + 35{p} = 673, where [y] denotes the greatest integer ≤ y and {y} = y - [y]

Solution TWO VALUES FOR P | Comment 2 of 5 |

CLEARLY

BIGGEST P=INT(673/18)+(673-18*INT(673/18))/35=37.2

 

AND SMALLEST  P MUST BE 36+K   ....... K IS A FRACTION

36*18=648  SO K=25/35=5/7=.7143

P1= 36.7143

P2=37.2
