What is the longest common English word you can spell without repeating a letter?
What is the longest (perhaps not-so-common) English word that can be written using only Roman numerals?
In regards to the use of Roman numerals -- besides I, V, X, L, C, D and M -- which are used in the standard form, there are a few other, less commonly known numerals that have been used. The letter S, for simis ("half"), was used in the Roman's duodecimal system for fractions.
During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance additonal letters and symbols were used - and may be known as the 'medieval Roman numerals'. Some of the letters were redundant, while a few were ambiguously non-distinct.
For this post, I only include the Roman numeral fraction S to the other standard Roman numerals. The plural of dividivi is dividivis -- a 9-letter solution. Two other 9-letter plural solutions using the S are civicisms (devotions to civic causes and interests) and scillisms (poisonings by squill).
