Two Cube Folding Puzzles (Posted on 2007-12-18) Difficulty: 2 of 5
How can a 2x4 rectangle be cut (and still remain in one piece) and be able to be folded into a 1x1x1 cube?

How about a 3x3 square?

_______
|C|B|I |       |C|/ |I |
|D|A|H|       |D|A|H|
|E |F |G|      |/ |F |G|

In both diagrams the cut is identical, down between BA and IH, under A and up between A and D  to form a "J" shape.

1. Place A on D, F on E and H on G. I folds over to form the top.
2. Crimp B and E diagonally inwards(second diagram). Fold G around to the crimped B. Place H and G and fold I over to form thr top.

I thought that I had at one other but cannot get it; maybe it was just the second one done from a different starting point.
