Two Cube Folding Puzzles (Posted on 2007-12-18) Difficulty: 2 of 5
How can a 2x4 rectangle be cut (and still remain in one piece) and be able to be folded into a 1x1x1 cube?

How about a 3x3 square?

Rectangle:

Cut on the line as shown except for a segment 1/4
it's length (anywhere) so that you have two 1x4
"strips."

Fold the 1/4 length 'connection' at 90 degrees.
Wrap each strip back onto itself.

Square it out with some creases.  Cube.

2 of the opposite faces will be 2 ply.

__Square__

junk | bottom | front
- - -|- - - - |- - - -
junk |  back  | right
- - -|- - - - |- - - -
left :  top   : right

Obviously, the right:right junction describes a
180 fold, not a 90.
