Year of the Roman (Posted on 2009-08-21) Difficulty: 2 of 5

Select from the English alphabet only those letters, and just once each, which represent Roman numerals. Place them in a special order to represent a year in history that holds significance.

What is that year, and what are at least two reasons for that significance?

MDCLXVI=1666
Significance:
Year with all roman numerals occuring once in order
Great fire of londan
Sir Issac Newton uses a prism to split sun light into its component colors

I am thinking that Brainjn is not intending for any particular year as "the" answer, but simply for us to find years that fit the criteria and what is significant about them.  Using google one can find significant events for just about any year in history.
