"Onion" and "salsa" possess a similar structure: both words consist of two identical 2-letter syllables and a distinct letter between them.
Apparently, there are more English words of similar form (12312).
Find as many as you can.

One should not be finicky about the contadictions between the  12312 format          and the strictness of syllables count.<br><br>

  IMHO -  the format prevails, so "sense"      is in , but go-go ,so-so and similar are definitely out.

I saw full solutions in other posts, and the advantage of  a computerized search in a extensive data base is obvious.
