On reflection, I think "seer" is an example of elision, which would be close to the "one and a half" syllables (my dictionary suggests "there's" as an example, where the full two syllables would be "there is").  For "syllable" itself one meaning is "the smallest conceivable expression or unit of something" -- as in "until the last syllable of recorded time".  For the treat, we could compromise on "confection" I suppose.  Perhaps we need a physiognomic test for true homophony, or some labial criterion.  As long as we don't have a weakened weekend!
