I agree Brian, the wording is sometimes the hardest part of the problem! My personal favorites under the previous wording of the problem were:

  • 1,2,rt5,rt6,rt11,2^2, and
  • rt2,rt7,3,2^2,5,3rt3

I conjecture that the second of these is the largest that can be made with 4 digits if repetitions of a digit are allowed. Can anyone find a larger one? I could only find near misses like 3,6rt6,15,21,3rt73,rt666.
