AutoHomophone (Posted on 2011-03-22) Difficulty: 3 of 5
What's a 5-letter, 1-syllable word, that if you removed either of the first two letters (but not both), you'd end up with a homophone of the original word?

I can't think of any others with 1 syllable.  ll and ee also 'work' but llama and eerie each have 2 syllables.
