There are not too many LE** words that are grammatically correct. "LEFT" in "MY GIRL LEFT ME" is one of the words that work, yet it does not explain why she did it.
"MY GIRL LETS ME" may not be completely clear to her motive, yet what man is there that can really understand the mind of a woman? Why did she do it? Because she lets me do it. Isn't that how some women think? At least I had felt it is the better of the two possibilities for the solution of the puzzle.
