John Vignetti cheated on a test by not looking at the answers. If he had looked at the answers, then he would not have been cheating. How?
John would see all answers in a multiple choice. He merely has to choose from what is provided and so would not be cheating.
Now my quandary, John sits down to the paper, does not read the answers but merely selects at "random". Could I legitimately call this "cheating"?
