The Game (Posted on 2006-12-14) Difficulty: 2 of 5
There is a game which is played by those unlucky enough to be duped into it called "The Game". There are 3 simple rules to The Game:

1. Knowledge of The Game is the only thing required to play it (whoops, shouldn't have read this!!).
2. If you think about The Game, you lose.
3. If you lose The Game, you must announce it to anyone else who also plays.

Can you ever win The Game?

Solution re: W.O.P.R. | Comment 14 of 23 |
(In reply to W.O.P.R. by Larry)

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but I've never met someone who had the same idea as I. Great minds think alike, don't we Larry? I do wonder, though, when did you come up with this? I had the idea after I first learned about The Game in summer 2008 at a convention.

That being said, The Game has a fatal flaw.  Rule 1 states "Knowledge of The Game is the only thing required to play it", however, there is nothing saying that you are forced to play.

So if playing the game is optional and "the only winning move is not to play", then those who refuse to play are the winners.

Well, I refuse to play.

(P.S. - This was meant to be silly, but, technically, it's logically sound. I doubt this was the solution Sassy is looking for, though.)
