I loved (Posted on 2013-06-05) Difficulty: 4 of 5
Live Devo love devil.
The above sentence of 4 words is a palindromic alphametics, using only various subsets of " I loved" letters and boasting a unique solution.
Live + Devo + love = devil.
Decoding it analytically is not an easy task.

Btw Devo was a punk group, famous in the seventies.

Source: I've found this sequence in an essay by jjnlm, the comments are mine.

re: A devilish problem (spoiler)__ D=0? Comment 3 of 3 |
(In reply to A devilish problem (spoiler) by Steve Herman)

Although we sometimes see "No leading zeroes" framed within a problem it is quite obvious that that phrase is implicit anyway.

That said, and Steve never actually tested it, I can confirm from a computer program that D <> 0 anyway.

I built a spreadsheet "calculator" and worked around much of what Steve has presented.  Having become frustrated I resorted to a computer program which I carelessly did not save.  Simple as it was I'm not about to recreate it.  Suffice to say that it did yield a unique result.
