n2m or m2n ? (Posted on 2014-07-16) Difficulty: 2 of 5

Let P2 be a polynomial of m terms raised to the nth power.

When expanded, which of the two will yield more terms?

Solution Trivial solution? | Comment 1 of 6

If n = 1 and m = 2, then P1 will have 1 term and P2 will have 2 terms.

Assuming there's a general solution for all n, m then I have to assume that P2 will yield more terms.
