n2m or m2n ? (Posted on 2014-07-16) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Let P1 be a polynomial of n terms raised to the mth power.
Let P2 be a polynomial of m terms raised to the nth power.

When expanded, which of the two will yield more terms?

Hints/Tips re(3): Trivial solution? Comment 6 of 6 |
(In reply to re(2): Trivial solution? by tomarken)

"So we have P1..."   etc  should be N(P1) i.e, the number of P1's terms.

The sequel should be adjusted  mutatis mutandis.

You may edit, if  you are so inclined.
