Dozen Word Amalgamation (Posted on 2014-10-13) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Twelve small words are given below. Your task is to construct four longer words, each word using three of the smaller words.
For example: sun + bat + her = sunbather

AN, CAN, ME, PART, ONE, WHAT, IS, BAR, DID, SO, BIT, ATE

Solution re: Learned a new word (spoiler) Comment 2 of 2 |
(In reply to Learned a new word (spoiler) by Charlie)

  • PART.IS.AN - an ardent supporter of some person or activity; devotion to such
  • BAR.BIT.ONE - a barbiturate used as a hypnotic
  • SO.ME.WHAT - to a moderate extent or degree
  • CAN.DID.ATE - a person or thing in consideration for something

BARBITONE is SOMEWHAT of a CANDIDATE for PARTISAN  puzzle-solvers and makers.
I infer my construction of the four longer words was arrived in a different order than that of Charlie. Nevertheless, the words are the same.
