(a) ELR * E = LYE

From (a), E < 4
But E cannot be 0 or 1.
And if E = 3, then L can only be 9, but 39R * 3 cannot equal 9Y2.
So E must = 2

Then, 2L? * 2 = L?2, so L must be 4 or 5.  
But (b) LY2*2 = RYYP, so R must equal 1
And L > 4 ; Therefore L = 5
    
So, there is just one possibility
 
 251 * 2 = 502  502 * 2 = 1004
 
Then PLY/EEL = 450/225 = 2
