(vii) SORRIER ANIMAL   
(viii) ALLEGED ARTIFICE
*** For example, FAIRER BEETLE is an anagram of FREE and LIBERATE which are similar in meaning.

Looks like (iv) has two solutions: give/donate and negate/void (all being verbs, including void).
