(q, plural qs [also q's], is the letter "q"; yet, as all letters are recognized as words, it is also a word. [The name of a letter is generally more than the letter itself. For q, the name is spelled cue.]
qt is usually considered an abbreviation, but it is found in at least one English dictionary where it is considered a word derived from an abbreviation.)

In addition to the above, there are a few words  in the English language where the u does not immediately follow the q. (Already included in the above list are words where a u precedes the q at some point in the word):

Obsolete English words are understandably excluded, yet I list a few that can be found in a 20th-century American English unabridged dictionary:

Note: Several of the words in the lists are not found in compiled word lists used in word games, such as Scrabble or Words with Friends. Nonetheless, they are English words found in modern English dictionaries.
