On his way to fitness (Posted on 2015-06-15) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Johny, trying to reduce, followed a certain diet
during the month of April.
He recorded his weight daily at 8:00, naked, using the same balance.
Some of his entries are given below:

Apr 3...........102.6 kg
Apr 8...........101.1 kg
Apr 14.........99.4 kg
Apr 18.........98.7 kg
Apr 22.........98.0 kg
Apr 28..........97.6 kg

Please provide your estimate of his average April weight.

8:00 was not given as AM or PM but I doubt there's much to be gained by considering hours over days.  Let's find out.

Fit a least squares line through the data:
weight = -.2052*day+102.7480

then the average is found by day 15.5
-2052*15.5+102.7480=99.5667 kg

We could fit this by hours (assuming AM)
where Apr 3 = 56 hours into the month, etc.
weight =-.00855*hour+102.6111
and then going 360 hours into the month gives
99.53246 kg
