South Carolina does produce more peaches than Georgia, and Delaware is not very noteworthy in current peach production. Delaware had acquired the nickname by having been in the past the largest producer of that fruit in America, and may have been the State in which the fruit was first introduced for such. It's peach industry collapsed toward the end of the 19th century due to a blight.
Many States have more than one nickname, with some forgotten over time and some new ones acquired. Thus the feature should not be considered unique.
