There are several possible solutions,- provide the one with a minimal value of s+e+q+u+n+c.
I initially erred by finding C+C+1=I and S+S+1=I, when in actuality the equality is C+C+1=I+k*10, such that k is the carry of 1 or 0. And as S+S+1 has no carry, C+C+1=I+10 --- rewritten, 2*C = I+9, thus I, which is odd, is alphametically found to be 5.

I had failed to include proper nouns/adjectives in my search for possible solutions. Cartesian is an example of one such English word, as indicated by the published solution.
