Test #9 (Posted on 2016-01-05) Difficulty: 3 of 5
The pattern of test i.e.1231 fits the words like area, bomb, chic, dead etc.
Try to compile a list of at least 20 distinct words, with a digit 1 replaced by a, b, c, d etc.

Rem1: Samples mentioned above cannot be used.
Rem2: Other than that, all goes (proper nouns, acronyms, slang words).
Rem3: You will probably find no solutions for j, q, v, y and z.

Several answers are available for many of the letters. For some letters with "rare" solutions. As "all goes", one can find solutions in other languages:

JAIJ - a Marshallese word for "size"
QUOQ - Latin for "also; each"
VARV - a Swedish word for "full circle"
YUKY - an English variant spelling for YUCKY
YERY - an English word for the older name of 23rd-letter of the Cyrillic alphabet
Y
öVY - a Finnish word meaning "to stay overnight"
ZARZ - a Lower Sorbian word for "rust"
