An educated guess (Posted on 2016-04-18) Difficulty: 3 of 5
You throw a perfect die (digits 1 to 6), adding up the results until the total score is over N.

What’s your estimate of the most likely final sum?

Please write down your guess prior to analytical evaluation or simulation.

Hints/Tips re: Referencing another problem | Comment 5 of 7 |
(In reply to Referencing another problem by Brian Smith)

What is the most likely result (N or more) :   a. for a big N (say N>99)?    b) for a small N (N<10 ) ? c) N being a 2-digit number?

Compare your intuitional guess with analytical reasoning or simulation results.

Btw, I've never seen the Die Toss problem, which indeed is similar.
