Puzzle Calendar (Posted on 2016-05-09) Difficulty: 2 of 5
I have a puzzle calendar with a page for every weekday plus one page covering each Saturday/Sunday pair. It has a puzzle on every page, so that most weeks I get six puzzles. If I get a revised version of this calendar year after year there are occasions, when a year ends on a Saturday, that I'll get a puzzle for Saturday on the old calendar and one for Sunday on the new calendar.

How many puzzles will I see in a typical year? What are the exceptions to this, depending on leap year or the day of the week the year starts?

There will be 313 puzzle a regular year and 314 on a leap year with one exception:

A leap year that begins on Saturday ends on a Sunday.   There is one extra full weekend so you get one less puzzle.

So every 28 years you get 314 puzzles 6 times and 313 the other 22.
