Carfax (Posted on 2016-09-29) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Traveling between country towns, you arrive at a lonely crossroads where some mischief-maker has uprooted the signpost and left it lying by the side of the road.

Without help, how can you choose the right road and continue your journey?

If the signpost is mean't to be read from one direction only, the problem is trivial.

If the post has four arrows, one pointing out what town is in each direction it is a simple process of orienting the post so that the correct arrow points to where you are coming from.

There may also be clues on the post itself as to how it was oriented.  Such as moss on the north side or the north side might have less sun bleaching.  There may also be clues in the dirt on the post.
