I've found out that our carpenters consider two parameters when asked to quote a customized table's price: the cost is composed of 2 parts. One part is proportional to the area and the other to the square of the larger length.
Then he adds 15% profit and 17% VAT, rounding up to the next integer value divisible by 50.
If the price of 1.2m by 1.8m is ₪2000 and 1m*3.75m is ₪5600 what is the price for 2.4m*2.6m dimensions?
Name the price, no discounts, no haggling!
Rem: ₪ stands for NIS, New Israeli Shekel (1$ about 3.5 ₪.)

I have some time so I'll do both.
I think I used 2-digit precision before. I'll use 4 digits here. The parameter values change slightly but the final cost isn't affected.
((1.2)(1.8)x + (1.8)(1.8)y)*(1.15)*(1.17) = 2000
((1)(3.75)x + (3.75)(3.75)y)*(1.15)*(1.17) = 5600
2.16x + 3.24y = 2000/(1.15)(1.17)
3.75x + 14.0625y = 5600/(1.15)(1.17)
Multiply the first equation by 3.75 and the second by 2.16 and subtract the first from the second.
y*(2.16*14.0625 - 3.75*3.24) = (2.16*5600 - 3.75*2000)/(1.15*1.17)
18.225y = 3415.8305
y=187.4255, x=407.0267
Then the sought for price is 5122, rounded up to 5150.
