A woman bought something costing 34c.
She only had 3 coins: $1, 2c and 3c.
The shopkeeper had only 2 coins: 25c and 50c.
Fortunately another customer had 5 coins: 2*10c, a 5c coin, 2c coin and a 1c coin.
How did they resolve the purchase?
There may be more than one solution, but here's the first I found.
Customer must end up with (100+2+3)-34=71 cents
Shopkeeper must end up with (25+50)+34=109 cents
The helper must end up with (10*2+5+2+1)=28 cents
Pool the money (rather than worry about who gives money to who) then it's easy for each person to take what they need.
Customer takes 50+10+10+1
Shopkeeper takes 100+5+2+2
Helper takes 25+3
