After solving please decode the following phrase:

I could not get factors for the 10 letter word idealistic to work, which is hardly surprising: its 8 unique letters each take assignments, making factors that work scarce, and here I believe, unavailable. 

The next longest word, beverage, with 8 letters: 6 unique, does in fact yield a solution, and a single unque one: 

THE x BASED = BEVERAGE
580 x 17603 = 10209740 

However, this yields gibberish  for the "phrase" 

So, there must be a lesser solution...
