Solve:

x*(x+y+z)=1
y*(x+y+z)=2
z*(x+y+z)=6

Solution Short and Sweet | Comment 1 of 2
Adding the 3 equations, we have:
(x+y+z)^2 =1+2+6=9
(x+y+z)=+/-3   ......(#)
Dividing each of the given equations by (#), we have:
(x,y,z) = (1/3, 2/3, 2), (-1/3, -2/3, -2)
