A rectangular sheet of paper is folded so that two diagonally opposite corners come together. The crease thus formed is as long as the longer side of the rectangle.

What is the ratio of the longer side of the rectangle to the shorter?

The required ratio between the longer side and the shorter side is:
V((V5+1)/2) which is approximately equal to 1.2720196495.

*** I thought that I had submitted a complete solution before!  Evidently, I didn't!! Anyway, I will try to posit a full explanation as soon as possible!!!
