Four prisoners escape from a prison. The prisoners, Mr. East, Mr. West, Mr. South, Mr. North head towards different directions after escaping. The following information of their escape was supplied:
The escape routes were North Road, South Road, East Road and West Road.
1. None of the prisoners took the road which was their namesake.
2. Mr. East did not take the South Road.
3. Mr.West did not the South Road.
4. The West Road was not taken by Mr. East.
What road did each of the prisoners take to make their escape?

By the problem, none of Mr. East or Mr. West took the South Road. By clue (i), Mr. South did not take the South Road.
So, Mr. North took the South Road.
By clue (iv), the West Road was not taken by Mr. East.
By clue (i), it cannot have been taken by Mr. West. Also, it wasn't Mr. North who took the West Road.
Accordingly, the West Road was taken by Mr. South.
So, Mr. East and Mr. West took the East Road and the North Road, not necessarily in this order.
Since, in terms of clue (i), Mr. East cannot take the East Road, he must have taken the North Road.
The remaining prisoner, that is Mr. West must have taken the East Road.
