Looking for longer word lists, I found one that came with my Mac /usr/share/dict/words - who knew?
So I looked there for words with 1 letter repeated and words with 2 letters repeated (using the SH interpretation of this problem). In my last post, I gave some words with 0 letters repeated (the longest were 15 letters long). Here are the longest with 2 and 1 letters repeated:
20 letter words - 2 letters repeated
------------------------------------
2 OOPHOROSALPINGECTOMY
19 letters words - 2 letters repeated
-----------------------
2 CHONDROFIBROMATOUS
2 GALVANOPLASTICALLY
2 INDISCRIMINATINGLY
2 INDISCRIMINATIVELY
2 NONUNDERSTANDINGLY
2 OVERSIMPLIFICATION
2 PSEUDOANTHROPOLOGY
2 PSEUDOCHRONOLOGIST
2 PSEUDOCONGLOMERATE
2 UNDISCRIMINATINGLY
2 ZYGOMATICOSPHENOID
-----------------------
Here are words with just one letter repeated:
17 letter words:
1 ANTHROPOSOCIOLOGY
1 HYPERCIVILIZATION
1 SUPERCIVILIZATION
16 letter words
-------------------
1 DISCRIMINABILITY
1 DISCRIMINATIVELY
1 DISEQUILIBRATION
