1+2+3=I
2+3+4=N
3+4+5=V
4+5+6=E
5+6+7=x
6+7+8=y
The last 2 lines do not fit the previous four.
What replacements (x,y) would?
First, my version of the pattern.
Maybe the sums are to be spelled out, and then the letter is one of the letters of the spelled out sum, in particular, it must be either the i-th, j-th, or k-th letter. If a letter is already used, pick a different letter.
i j k sum spelled possibles letter
1 2 3 6 SIX S,I,X I
2 3 4 9 NINE I,N,E N
3 4 5 12 TWELVE E,L,V V
4 5 6 15 FIFTEEN T,E,E E
5 6 7 18 EIGHTEEN T,E,E T
6 7 8 21 TWENTYONE Y,O,N Y or O
7 8 9 24 TWENTYFOUR F,O,U F or U or O if not used yet
8 9 10 27 TWENTYSEVEN E,V,E pattern breaks down
So per the supposed pattern, I'll say "T" , "Y".
But it doesn't follow the pattern, and from the title "Makes Sense" which is a homonym for make cents, I'll make my final guess as "S", "T", so it spells out INVEST.
