Please find all pairs (x, y) satisfying the equation:
16^(x^2+y)+16^(y^2+x)=1
This only works if both exponents are -1/4, making the two terms each equal to 1/2.
Since the exponents are equal,
x^2 + y = y^2 + x
(x - y)(x + y + 1) = 0
Try with x=? y
x^2 + x + 1/4 = 0 giving x = y = -1/2.
