Meeting Place (Posted on 2023-12-31) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Peter handed a coded message to Mr. De Marco. The message was from Mr. Girard informing Mr. De Marco that they wanted to meet.

The message read: 14 22 22 7 14 22 26 7 16 18 13 20 8 24 9 12 8 8 8 7 26 7 18 12 13 19 12 15 14 22 8

Where was Mr. Girard to meet Mr. De Marco?

Solution OK, here is the solution Comment 4 of 4 |
The message is about a place to meet.
All the numbers are between 1 and 26 inclusive.
The first four numbers are 14 22 22 7:  maybe it stands for MEET.
The next two numbers are 14 22.  So "MEET ME ..."
I noticed that 14 = M; M is the 13th letter of the alphabet.
Also E = 22 which is 5 from the end (if the end is 26).
A few more checks suggests this is an Atbash code where the alphabet is simply paired with the alphabet in reverse:  A is Z, B is Y, etc.

MEET ME AT KING'S CROSS STATION HOLMES
My first comment was the GPS coordinates of where King's Cross Station was during the 18th century (according to Google Earth).
