What is the largest number of strikes you can get in bowling, yet still lose to someone who gets no strikes, and only that same number of spares?
That is, the loser gets X strikes. Winner gets no strikes, but gets X spares.
I had the scoring right but the terminology wrong.
Since in "frame 11" and "frame 12" knocking down all 10 in one or two throws does not gain you any extra throws, I wasn't thinking they would be called "strikes" or "spares" per se. For example, I thought a perfect game was 10 strikes (then 2 extra throws getting 10 each) rather than 12 strikes.
But of course strikes in the extra throws are still called strikes.
